"It is important to understand that just because there are sufferings and trials in the flesh, while on this side of eternity, it does not mean that the power of God is not being used to keep us. Many people are under the delusion that if they are right with God, and if God genuinely loves them, they will not be sick, not suffer persecution, not have financial set-backs or the like. That, of course, is not the case at all. God, according to the good pleasure of His will, will allow various trials and tribulations in this life. However, the soul is secure in His loving arms. All the issues of this life, whether we perceive them as good or bad, are worked out in our lives according to God's will and the exercise of God's power."
