"We think, especially in the days that we live, where we have an abundance of things to dull our senses, that we can live without the power of God. Yet, all the abundance, all the stuff, all the things that are pleasing to the taste, and the other senses, have their source, ultimately in the sustaining power of God. I would also point out that the power of God is like the other attributes, God Himself. God is infinite, God is immutable, God is power etc.
Today, we will start focusing on the fact that God is holy! It is true that some of the attributes of God are more palatable to our senses than others. For example, justice is very rarely a favorite attribute of God. We are quick to speak about God's mercy, God's grace, and God's love, often before we speak of God's wrath, God's justice and even God's holiness.
I think the reason for this is that we know that we are deserving of God's wrath and justice, but because of mercy and grace, this wrath was exercised against the Holy One, Jesus Christ, on our behalf. Therefore, we glory in these most gracious attributes of God, at times, somewhat, out of balance to the other attributes."
