"Coming to what Paul is saying next, we find mountain peaks of doctrinal truth related to the believer. This is where Paul really wanted the Thessalonians to focus. Paul is teaching doctrine. This letter is addressed to the Thessalonians who were experiencing persecution for naming the name of Christ. This is why Paul now brings us to a mountain peak of doctrine. Here is a foundational truth upon which we all stand as believers. This is truth that under-girds our faith. This is the truth that takes our eyes off of the Antichrist, and the evils of this world, and lets us gaze into eternity future with great confidence."
