"The greatest examples of the love of God and the mercy of God are seen at the cross. Leading up to the cross, it is seen in all the Lord's actions. The Lord went about the cities and the villages, and he healed the sick, cast out demons and preached the Gospel to them. All these were acts of great compassion, yet, there is one that is much more important than the others.
Never forget that the Gospel is primary. Many people were healed, and many demons cast out, but this did not mean that the people had saving faith. The Lord Jesus could have performed miracles and cast out demons and never shared the truth of who He was, thus only solving immediate problems and not eternal. That which is eternal matters most."
