"They take one step forward, and it feels like they fall two behind. Obedience to the Lord is the command, the outcome is the Lord's. The disciples were doing all that was within their power, at least physically, to get the boat, and themselves to the desired destination. However, it was the Lord's will that they struggled in the process. It was the Lord's will that, in their obedience, they had to strive with all their might. You may be beset with some challenge, be it temptation or simply a life situation where the Lord wills that you struggle with all your physical might. If nothing else, your effort will remind you of what is most important."
